Brodie Directors and Tongue Tie used by surgeons to contains a plain point at one end and a butterfly-shaped director on the other end. This stainless steel instrument is typically used during a frenotomy to lift the tongue back and expose the frenulum. The frenulum would rest on the grooved part of the director and then be cut with iris scissors. Depending on the patient, this device is offered in various lengths.
