Description
Halsted Mosquito Haemostatic Artery Forceps 185 mm
Halsted Mosquito Forceps, Straight and Curved, Delicate Forceps are used in multiple procedures as a haemostatic for small blood vessels. The ratcheted finger ring handle provides a secure, locking grip to halt blood flow. They are not appropriate for use with large vessels or arteries. A toothed variation is available for grasping delicate tissue in skin grafting, biopsies, or ophthalmologic procedures. Mosquito forceps are known for their fine tips, and short, fully serrated jaws. They are available curved or straight. The standard length for this instrument is 5 inches, although Sklar does offer some with a length of 185 mm. Halsted Mosquito Forceps are very similar to Hartmann Mosquito Forceps, however, the Hartmann style is finer and more delicate. This product is straight and curved with serrated tips and a length of 185 mm.
The Halsted Mosquito Haemostatic Artery Forceps 185 mm by NAZMED SMS offer a longer profile for enhanced access in deep or narrow surgical fields while maintaining delicate control over bleeding vessels. Favored in general, vascular, plastic, and pediatric surgeries, this tool is ideal for clamping small arteries and handling fine tissues with precision.
Featuring fine serrated jaws, the Halsted Mosquito Forceps ensures a firm grip without crushing the vessel walls, reducing trauma during hemostasis. The built-in ratchet locking mechanism provides secure clamping, essential for delicate procedures where movement must be minimized.
With a length of 185 mm, these artery forceps provide a perfect balance between reach and control. Whether used in surface-level incisions or deep cavities, the forceps allow the surgeon to work with confidence and precision.
Crafted from high-grade surgical stainless steel, the instrument is fully rust-resistant, reusable, and autoclavable, ensuring both safety and long-term durability. It is available in straight or curved patterns, depending on the surgical preference and application.
These forceps represent a vital part of any surgical toolkit—whether for hospital operating rooms, ambulatory surgical centers, or field surgery settings.
