Bumm placenta and ovum curettes are used mainly after incomplete miscarriages or in abortion procedures. Curettes designed for scraping the uterine lining to remove tissue and the uterus content in pregnant women (i.e., placenta and fetus). These curettes are typically metal, handheld, manual instruments with a wide sharp or blunt loop at the distal end, a straight or curved shaft, and a sturdy handle.
