Plastic Filling Instrument
A Dental Composite and plastic filling instruments, also known as placement instruments, are designed for placing and contouring pliable restorative materials into cavity preparations and other dental procedures. These instruments generally have rounded ends that help in applying restoratives without damaging sensitive tissue. Double ended with flat, blunt blades. A flat plastic is used to shape and removed excess filling material from a tooth. A flat plastic instrument can sometimes be confused for a wards carver because one end is nearly identical to the flat plastic, but side by side they look very different. Single Use Large Double Ended Flat Plastic Filling Instrument, designed to adapt plastic filling materials to dental cavities, remove excess filling material and ensure a smooth margin between restoration and tooth. Supplied in an easy to open, sterile pack.
Uses
- Double ended instrument with packing end and cutting end
- Used to shape and condense a restorative material while it is still malleable or capable of being shaped or formed
- Also used with cements before setting occurs
- Most have a small condenser at one end and a paddle like blade at the other end
Function
To carry composite material for cavity preparation and shape composite, not for any other use characteristies: specially coated instrument, not for amalgam or any other use.
