Description
Henning Plaster Spreader 2 Flat Blades Outside Serrated, Size: 270 mm
Its also known as Henning Plaster Cast Spreader is an instrument that can be used to aid in the process of cast removal. A variety of orthopedic and other surgical procedures such as fracture repair require for the bone to be in a specific alignment as it heals and this can be accomplished via a plaster cast. Henning Plaster Cast Spreader has a large plier shape handle and two large, flat, rectangular blades with horizontal serrations on the outside of the blade. Once a cut is made in the plaster cast, the blades of the spreader are closed by opening the handle and are inserted to a section of the cast. By squeezing the handle, the blades spread open, there by spreading apart sections of the cast. After multiple sections of the cast are spread open, the cast may be removed. The blades are approximately 2-1/8 inches wide and the overall length of this instrument is 270 mm.
