SMS instrument Allis Tissue Forceps are ratcheted forceps with a finger ring handle. These forceps are commonly used for grasping dense and slippery tissue such as tonsil, vaginal, breast and thyroid tissue. Forceps models below are sold individually.  This product is straight with 4×5 teeth extra delicate and a length of 6 inches.

Uses

  • To hold thin but tough tissues for purpose of giving traction.
  • Can be used to hold tissues like fibrous capsule of sac being dissected.
  • G. holding subcutaneous tissue, deep fascia.
  • Used to hold skin while raising skin flaps.
  • Used to pick up a fold of peritoneum during laparotomy.
  • Used to hold linea Alba while closing midline incision.
  • Hold bladder neck for bladder neck resection.
  • Used when tissues cannot be separated by retractors. When tissues are slippery, or when the direction of traction must be frequently varied.

  • Removal of large amount of tissue, or biopsies.
  • Locking handle and grasping teeth.
  • Cause large amount of tissue destruction and for that it should not be used on tissues remaining in the mouth.
  • Can be used to grasp the tongue as in towel clip.
